Weekend Wish List

Happy Sunday, lovelies!

Sending lots of sunshine to the most broke and budgeting Bitches this weekend. It's not easy to make poor look so good, but I've got a few fellow Bitches in my arsenal of fabulousness that are keeping it fly.

Is there anything so lovely as a taste of something cold and refreshing to feel like summer? As our budgets rarely allow us luxuries such as central air conditioning or, heck, a ceiling fan, sometimes the best way to stay cool is by chasing down the Mr Softee truck with a bag full of spare change.

Welcome to July, Bitches! This weekend, we happen to be wishing for an assortment of chilly treats and sweets to give us a brief vacation from this killer heat. And yes, we are currently writing this from our hot box of a Williamsburg apartment.

1. Cereal ice cream from Momofuku Milk Bar sounds like the stuff that dreams are made of- in fact, we'd be quite torn between the Corn Flakes or the Fruity Pebbles when given the opportunity (although we're still holding out for Rice Krispies!). Since cereal ranks extremely high on our list of favorite foods, it should come as no surprise that we're lusting for this luxurious ice cream we could never afford. Hey, it's called the wish list for a reason.
2. Arnold Palmers. Half lemonade and  half iced tea make for a whole lotta perfect. This is the drink for the Bitch who can't quite make up her mind- or pay for two drinks.
3. A gelato cookie sandwich from the Street Sweets truck. You haven't tasted heaven until you've chosen your favorite flavor of Ciao Bella gelato and smashed it between two still-warm-from-the-oven cookies. We highly recommend the chocolate flourless walnut cookies with a scoop of chocolate gelato.
4. Our new favorite dessert, affogato, from Cafe Reggio in the Village. Our standby for pre- and post- IFC cinema screenings, this old aschool hang out offers the best version of this cold Italian treat. Vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of strong espresso makes this a perfect indulgence for any kind of weather.
5. Raspberry Basil People's Pops. As a girl who was never allowed to indulge in pops of the Otter or Push-Up variety as a child (just ask my hippie parents if you don't believe me), this is the kind of ice pop my mom would definitely get behind. Awesome flavor compliments a refreshing, beat-the-heat flavor. We like- especially when the Cooking Channel is giving them out for free!

What are you wishing for this weekend? The Bitches want to know! Drop us a comment below, send us an email at bbonabudget@gmail.com, or get at us on Twitter @bbonabudget!

Stay cool, Bitches.
