Chocolate Fondue


Whether you’re combating a serious heartbreak, are having a fat day, or have finally succeeded in getting the object of your affection to start making googly eyes at you, nothing beats a rich chocolate fondue.

Our recipe for fondue, Bitch-on-a-Budget edition, uses ingredients we can guarantee you’ve already got in your fridge (if not, they shouldn’t be more than $8-10 to pick up).

All you need:
8 oz dark chocolate or chocolate chips
¼ cup heavy whipping cream
¼ tsp vanilla
1 tsp sugar
1 tbs hot water

  1. In a heavy saucepan, melt the chocolate with the heavy whipping cream over low to medium heat. Stir often so all chocolate is melted.
  2. When the chocolate is smooth, stir in the vanilla, sugar, and hot water.
  3. Serve with cubes of pound cake, Rice Krispie treats, graham crackers, marshmallows, bananas, berries, or other fresh fruit.

If you’ve got enough fondue for leftovers (and we never do), you can always refrigerate the fondue and re-heat for later use, including chocolate sauce for ice cream sundaes.
