While school is back in session and you may or may not be attending, chances are you’ve got a whole arsenal of school/office supplies just begging for a little attention. Sure, they look fun and colorful shoved into that junk drawer of your desk, but the Bitches love to repurpose their junk and decided that a little fall cleaning was in order to boost productivity.
Here are some ways to make that clutter work for you:
Gather your loose rubber bands and wrap a band around each end of a hanger. Use to secure your cute dresses and spaghetti-strap tops from sliding off and onto the floor.
Post-Its can be used for more than to-dos and makeshift coasters for your morning mug of coffee. Use the sticky side to clean your laptop keyboard by running it along your keys.
Business card holders are great catch-alls for awkward junk you usually keep floating around in your purse. Think you have no use for the seventeenth business card holder you got for graduation? Think again. Use it to hold all those loose sugar packets you keep on you at all times, ready to sweeten your java fix.
Pencils are for more than cute chopstick substitutes when you’re trying to pull off an Anna Sui-worthy messy bun. The next time you have a stuck zipper and the patience to try and fix it (unlike me, who usually tugs until it’s broken and then screams), rub the teeth on both sides of the zipper with the pencil tip (according to Real Simple, graphite is an awesome lubricant).
Gather old binder clips and use as a means to hang art or photos. All you need is the poster/picture of your choosing, a binder clip, and a single nail. No holes, no muss, no fuss.
Use mismatched drinking glasses to organize your pens, pencils, and assorted office supplies at your home desk. Whether the glasses came “vintage” from the junk store down the street, or merely serve as a mismatched collection of remaining sets that are sadly no longer with you (RIP), it makes no matter.
