Summer Mojito Recipe

Anybody who knows me knows I’m strictly a gin and tonic kind of girl. TQ, twist of lime, no ice. However, even a chronic routine cocktail enthusiast such as myself can appreciate switching up my usual for something that’s slightly more “summer”. I used to think that sangria and margaritas (aside from the occasional Corona) were the closest to summer as one could drink- er, get. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this fantastic mojito recipe, that’s just begging to be whipped up in a big bowl and share with friends!

Homemade mojitos with the lovely Miss E
All you need:
Mint leaves (10-12)
2 tsp sugar
1 ½ oz clear rum
¾ oz fresh lime juice

1. Muddle/smash together mint, sugar, and seltzer.
2. Add rum and lime juice.
3. Fill glass (traditionally, an old fashioned glass)with ice and pour in rum.
4. Stir.
5. Top with ice and soda water/mint/sugar mix.
6. Garnish with lime wedge.

Perfect for starting off a warm July night on the fire escape with a refreshing taste that is pretty much the epitome of summertime. Enjoy!
